A super Saturday for Salesian College Soccer!

On Saturday 5 February 2011, an incredible 11 football fixtures were played by Salesian College.
Fresh from beating Hounsdown School on Friday in the quarter finals of the County Cup, the Year 8 team took part in the Salesian Triangular tournament between Farnborough, Battersea and Chertsey. Well done to the boys, who beat Chertsey 1-0 (Benjamin Morris scoring) and drew 1-1 with Battersea (Oliver Watts scoring).
The Year 7 team beat Chertsey 3-0, with goals from Captain Conor Fitzmaurice, Rory McMichael and Michael Try. In the second match, the team beat Battersea 4-1 with goals from Conor Fitzmaurice, Rory McMichael, Samuel Henneberg and a stunning free-kick from Louie Gilpin.
The results from the Year 7 matches were all added to those of the Year 8 matches which meant that Salesian College, Farnborough won the trophy with a record played 4, won 3 and drew 1.
Furthermore, there was a Year 7B match between Salesian College, Farnborough and the Salesian School, Chertsey. Salesian College, Farnborough won 4-1, with goals from Thomas Szabo-Hemmings (2), William Parsons and James Barnes. Farnborough went on to play Chertsey in a Year 8B match, with Farnborough winning again this time 3-1, with goals from Jonathan Parke (2) and Lawrence Jepp.
The Year 9 Farnborough team also took part in a triangular tournament playing Leighton Park School (4-4) and Bearwood College (2-0). The Year 9 and 10 combined B team played against the same teams winning 3-1 and 4-0 respectively.
Finally, completing the 11 matches, Salesian College played Bearwood College in a Year 10 match, winning 7-1 with Jack Bull with two well-taken finishes.
It was a very successful day for Salesian College, Farnborough with a record of played 11, won 9, and 2 draws, taking the College to 78 football games played to date this season.
