Message from the Chaplain
Dear Friends
I'm sure you are aware that we are in the Season of LENT which is, traditionally, a time for reflection on the quality of our relationship with God, with others and indeed, with ourselves. It goes without saying that, if we are at peace with our God, everything else falls into place.
Don Bosco constantly spoke of "the desire for God, which everyone has in the depths of their being” (Sal. Cons 38). In today's world, it's not always easy to find time for meaningful reflection. Here at the College, we have a beautiful Chapel, where one can find peace and quiet which are very helpful to 'renewing one's spirit'. It is open all day every school day so, if you can find the time, you are very welcome to come to "taste and see that the Lord is good". Ps.34.8.
As you know, part of our School Pastoral Ministry is providing opportunities for the reception of the Sacraments. During Lent a priest will be available in the School Chapel 12.30 - 1.00pm each day - for anyone who wishes to receive the Sacrament of Reconcilliation. Our students know of this arrangement but, as you know quite well, they need constant reminding! A word now and again from you parents would, I'm sure, help them realise the wonderful gift that is available from the grace of the Sacrament.
Do know that you and your families are constantly in the prayers and concern of the Chaplain and all the Salesian Community here at Farnborough.
God love and bless you all.
Fr Brendan McGuinness SDB. Chaplain
